11 Benteng & Istana Eksotis Di Dunia
Potala Palace adalah bangunan istana megah yang dianggap suci dan dulunya dijadikan sebagai tempat tinggal Dalai Lama di puncak gunung Potala, Lhasa, Tibet.
Bangunan berukuran 400 x 350 meter ini memiliki sekitar 200 ribu patung, seribu kamar lebih dan 10 ribu tempat pemujaan yang terkumpul di puncak Marpo Li, yaitu lembah merah (red hill) yang menjulang tinggi lebih dari 300 meter dari dasar lembah.
Adapun dua lembah utama “Tiga Penjaga Tibet†lainnya yang terbagi di beberapa sudut istana, seperti Chokpori di bagian selatan Potala dan Pongwari yang mewakili bagian dari dewi Kwam Im (Avalokitesvara).
2. Predjama Castle, Slovenia

Meski pada Perang Dunia II sebagian bangunan kastil di Polandia ini telah hancur, namun pada 1962 Malbork kembali dibangun dengan restorasi yang lebih menarik.
Malbork adalah Istana Marienburg (nama sebelumnya) yang dibuat oleh Ordo Teutonik dari bahan batu bata dan terbagi atas tiga bagian yang terpisah. Mulai dari bawah, atas dan tengah terpisah oleh beberapa menara dan rerumputan. Luas Malbork Castle bisa mencapai 21 hektar atau empat kali lebih besar dari Istana Windsor dengan penghuninya sekitar 3 ribu tentara.

Lawang Sewu adalah salah satu bangunan bersejarah yang dibangun oleh pemerintahan kolonial Belanda, pada 27 Februari 1904. Awalnya bangunan tersebut didirikan untuk digunakan sebagai Het Hoofdkantoor van de Nederlansch Indische Spoorweg Maatscappij (NIS) atau Kantor Pusat Perusahan Kereta Api Swasta NIS. Sebelumnya kegiatan administrasi perkantoran NIS dilakukan di Stasiun Samarang NIS. Namun pertumbuhan jaringan perkeretaapian yang cukup pesat, dengan sendirinya membutuhkan penambahan jumlah personel teknis dan bagian administrasi yang tidak sedikit seiring dengan meningkatnya aktivitas perkantoran. Salah satu akibatnya kantor pengelola di Stasiun Samarang NIS menjadi tidak lagi memadai. NIS pun menyewa beberapa bangunan milik perseorangan sebagai jalan keluar sementara. Namun hal tersebut dirasa tidak efisien. Belum lagi dengan keberadaan lokasi Stasiun Samarang NIS yang terletak di kawasan rawa-rawa hingga urusan sanitasi dan kesehatan pun menjadi pertimbangan penting. Kemudian diputuskan untuk membangun kantor administrasi di lokasi baru. Pilihan jatuh ke lahan yang pada masa itu berada di pinggir kota berdekatan dengan kediaman Residen. Letaknya di ujung Bodjongweg Semarang (sekarang Jalan Pemuda), di sudut pertemuan Bodjongweg dan Samarang naar Kendalweg (jalan raya menuju Kendal). NIS mempercayakan rancangan gedung kantor pusat NIS di Semarang kepada Prof. Jacob F. Klinkhamer (TH Delft) dan B.J. Ouendag, arsitek yang berdomisili di Amsterdam. Seluruh proses perancangan dilakukan di Negeri Belanda, baru kemudian gambar-gambar dibawa ke kota Semarang. Melihat dari cetak biru Lawang Sewu tertulis bahwa site plan dan denah bangunan ini telah digambar di Amsterdam pada tahun 1903. Begitu pula kelengkapan gambar kerjanya dibuat dan ditandatangi di Amsterdam tahun 1903.

Pemilihan Nama Android KitKat

Tak seperti sebelumnya, Google memberi nama versi terbaru dari sistem operasi Android dengan nama sebuah merek coklat. Lalu dari mana asal muasal tercetusnya ide untuk mengadopsi nama KitKat?
Seperti santer diberitakan bahwa Google akan menggunakan Key Lime Pie sebagai nama untuk versi paling anyar dari sistem operasi Android. Indikasi ini semakin kuat karena Google gemar menamai sistem operasinya dengan nama hidangan penutup dan sesuai abjad.
"Kami menyadari bahwa sangat sedikit orang benar-benar tahu seperti apa rasa key lime pie," jelas John Lagerling, Director of Android Global Partnership.
Nama Key Lie Pie sendiri memang telah diputuskan akhir tahun lalu sebagai kelanjutan versi terbaru dari Android. Keragu-raguan itu semakin jelas setelah popularitas key lime pie mungkin tak setenar nama dessert lainnya.
Sampai di suatu malam, beberapa pengembang Google mendapatkan inspirasi yang tak terduga. Coklat dari Nestle KitKat terlintas begitu saja di benak para pengembang Google.
"Salah satu makanan ringan yang kami simpan di dapur untuk menemani saat-saat coding adalah KitKat, dan seseorang berkata; 'hei, kenapa tidak kita sebut KitKat saja untuk rilis selanjutnya'," tukasnya lagi.
Setelah nama itu disetujui, tak lama pejabat Google langsung terbang ke Swiss, di mana basis perusahaan Nestle berpusat. Intinya jelas, untuk meminta izin penggunaan nama KitKat.
Sambutan dengan tangan terbuka pun langsung didapatkan oleh Google dari Nestle. Karena tak lama dari meeting itu, keduanya setuju untuk menggunaan nama KitKat untuk Android terbaru.
"Terus terang tak sampai satu jam sampai kami bilang, 'ayo, mari kita lakukan'," kata Patrice Bula, kepala pemasaran Nestle.
Bula mengakui ada risiko dari perjanjian ini, misalnya, jika OS baru ini terbukti menjadi rentan terhadap malware itu bisa menyebabkan kerusakan merek KitKat itu sendiri.
"Mungkin aku akan dipecat," candanya.
"Ketika Anda mencoba untuk memimpin cara baru dalam berkomunikasi untuk mengenalkan profil merek Anda selalu memiliki risiko lebih tinggi daripada melakukan sesuatu yang jauh lebih tradisional. Tapi hey, kenapa kita tidak mencobanya," tandas Bula.

CARA MENINGKATKAN SINYAL PADA MODEM
Sahabat, saat ini media internet merupakan hal yang paling dicari dan paling
sering digunakan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, baik hanya untuk sekedar
browsing-browsing maupun untuk mendownload atau yang lainnya. Sekarang hampir
semua orang sudah memiliki dan menggunakan modem untuk melakukan koneksi ke
dunia maya. Akan tetapi tidak di semua tempat dapat memberikan sinyal yang
cukup untuk melakukan koneksi, akibatnya koneksi kita jadi terhambat dan
Loading’nya amat lama .
Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, ada beberapa cara untuk mengatasi hal tersebut dan salah satunya dengan menggunakan antena sederhana.
1. Siapkan kawat tembaga yang kira-kira diameternya sebesar lidi dan kuliti kabel tembaga tersebut sampai bersih.
2. Amplas kabel tembaga tersebut agar lapisan pelindung pada logam tembaganya menghilang.
3. Kabel tembaga tersebut kemudian dibentuk spiral dengan panjang dan diameter sama dengan modem dan pada bagian ujung spiral tembaga tersebut disisakan kurang lebih 15cm sebagai antena.

Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, ada beberapa cara untuk mengatasi hal tersebut dan salah satunya dengan menggunakan antena sederhana.
1. Siapkan kawat tembaga yang kira-kira diameternya sebesar lidi dan kuliti kabel tembaga tersebut sampai bersih.
2. Amplas kabel tembaga tersebut agar lapisan pelindung pada logam tembaganya menghilang.
3. Kabel tembaga tersebut kemudian dibentuk spiral dengan panjang dan diameter sama dengan modem dan pada bagian ujung spiral tembaga tersebut disisakan kurang lebih 15cm sebagai antena.

4. Masukkan modem ke dalam lilitan kabel tembaga dan modem pun siap digunakan.
